Madrid
Spain! What a quick trip. Only a month into the job on the Last Mile team at Amazon I was tasked with a research project in Madrid, Spain. I coordinated with the designers that were already planning to go for a conference and led them on a side project…riding with drivers for some competitive analysis and Amazon locker experience. I just started a project for lockers and needed all the research information I could get to help write the strategy and gather benchmarking data which would influence the design of a new app. product for delivery drivers. While the project is highly confidential… I can share that the research trip was a success and we gathered all the information we needed to start designing and some great nuggets of information to pass along to other teams about how other aspects of the driver’s days could be improved through other updates.
Spending a day riding with an Amazon delivery driver around Madrid, delivering packages to customers - which my driver made me do in Spanish…and he thought was hilarious - was a great way to experience Spain and Amazon. Meeting fellow Amazonians from all over the world at the product conference was great and being introduced to a new favorite drink… Tinto de Verano! And, most importantly, accidentally walking into a concert, complete with an amazing fireworks show, in the city center for their Military holiday was amazing!
