Packaging Design

Made By Design debuted in June 2018 and offered beautiful, purposeful pieces that guests could count on for superior quality, style and value season after season. The assortment featured simple and affordable houseware basics, luggage and travel accessories. I was on the ground floor which was both exciting and a mountainous climb, ripe with peaks and valleys that came out of nowhere…let me explain.

This brand was taking over most of the Room Essentials portfollio. This brand tested every part of my brand creation mindset, basically every time I made a rule, I ended up breaking that rule. The rules I created would work for one or two sku’s but then be blown up on the third sku…therefore…there couldn’t be a set in stone rule for all. This led to rewrites and testing of the rules for months, continuously adapting and collaborating daily with my creative partners (Art Director, Designer, Creative Director, etc.) to ensure the vision was being maintained and not lost within the sea of challenges. I jumped at opportunities to generate how the Made by Design Logo system would come to life when applied to the actual product…whether it was metal, silicone, wood or plastic…my logo system would be forever stamped upon the product.

I touched upwards of 2000+ unique sku’s. And I don’t embellish with that number…I literally touched every one of those sku’s, proofed them and developed toolkits for them so that others would know how to approach and execute this brand without hesitation or flaws. I created a collaboration network with this brand and it’s toolkits. I trained and partnered with our Target India team members to execute this system. I collaborated and developed working relationships with color separators, print vendors and external partners to ensure this brand’s success when it left the walls of Target. Simple & challenging…just how I like it.
