Apple

When our business team informed us that Target was going to bring partnerships into Target Circle our first project was to work with Apple to create a place within our Circle experience that we could allow a guest to redeem trial codes for Apple services. We partnered with our internal teams as well as Apple’s UX, engineering, legal and business partners on a weekly basis to achieve the correct redemption process. Making sure that the Target guest could easily find and seamlessly redeem their codes was key and the results of the teams working so closely together gave us a great outcome.

Ulta

Our next partnership was with Ulta Beauty. As Target was taking on it’s challenge of integrating an Ulta store into the larger Target store we needed to find a way to allow the Ulta and Target guest to link their rewards programs. If they shopped for Ulta items at Target, they expect to be able to earn Ulta rewards as well.

As a large team we met weekly for design reviews, legal conversations and engineering capabilities discussions, each conversation got us one step closer to the final output. After a couple rounds of guest testing and executive leadership reviews we were ready to launch the Ultamate Rewards linking experience.

Results

To date, 1.5M Guests have linked their Ultamate Rewards accounts.

Apple redemption rates are currently at 42%.
